If you’d like to pitch for an interview on the Books and Travel Podcast, please consider the following:
- My interviews are around travel-related topics and I prefer interviews that can be based on an author’s book/s. We can focus on a specific place (if it intersects with my book settings, that’s even better!), or a theme, philosophy, or attitude related to travel, like curiosity, or memento mori; or a mode of travel, like walking. Check out the backlist here to see how things work. Non-fiction and memoir are usually the best fit, although I will consider novels if there is a strong sense of place.
- Please send me 5-8 bullet-points about what we could discuss that would be interesting to the Books and Travel audience of readers and travellers. Email jo AT booksandtravel.page
- Please note, this is not a show about writing or publishing, so please don’t include aspects of that side of things in your pitch.
- If it’s a good fit, I will send you a Calendly link to book an interview. Please send me your book in PDF format so I can prep questions which I will send a few days before our interview with a link.
- It will be around 30-45 mins on video, but we’re not live and I will edit it, so you can relax and enjoy the conversation! Please have a copy of your book handy to show the viewers.
- I record in advance so it might be a few weeks or even months before your episode airs. The episodes are evergreen, so should provide long-tail traffic and marketing.
- The interview will go out on YouTube in video format, as well as the podcast apps in audio only. I will also create social media snippets that I will share with my audience, and you’re welcome to use as well. I also send the interview out to my email list, and I’d love you to share if you’re able to. Hopefully, it will help you sell some books!
